Breeders Elite Stallion Grading 19/03/2022 – SHOW REPORT

It was very encouraging to see, last Saturday, such a high-quality selection of young stallions rising into the future sport and breeding program. Out of the 20 stallions entered, our immensely knowledgeable judges consisting of the Olympic Showjumper Michael Whitaker, ex-Nations Cup riders Brian Dye and Geoff Glazzard and founder of the Studbook Henk Minderman, found it difficult to choose their favourite! All the stallions awarded with a licensing deserved it and these stallions include:

· James Coombs-Gyde’s dressage Ozzy Waldo (Everdale x Gribaldi x Rossini)

· Pat Ruck’s showjumper C-Savannah Z (Copycat Z x Dutch Capitol x Ramiro Z) and showjumper/dressage C-Apassionato P Z (Comilfo Plus Z x Dutch Capitol x Ramiro Z)

· Rebecca Marsh’s showjumper Exceptional Z (Escape Z x Chiwago V x Haarlem)

· Chelsea Shorter’s showjumper Nextra Ordinary (Ipsthar x Lux Z x Symphonie)

· Tyler Smith’s showjumper Mayflowers Morathi (Phoenix Lord Sandler x Elton x Picasso de Lauzelle)

· Lara Underwood’s showjumpers Aron Van Fil Horses (Aganix Du Seigneur x Up To Date M x Resoluut) and Hertog Jan AWH Z (Heineken VK x Quidam de Revel x Calato Z)

· Paul Kelly’s pony showjumper It’s Bill (Wild Balou Bill x Borris Gem)

The day also displayed the upgrading of the Breeders Elite graded stallion History – owned and ridden by Lucy Struthers – to Approved. This very promising showjumper by Tangelo Van de Zuuthoeve x Berlin x Numero Uno is now competing in 2/3* ranking classes internationally which is why we have awarded him this status.

We also saw the registration of other prospective stallions, including:

· Aileen Osterholm’s dressage Woodlander Sandman (Summertime Blues x Consul x Ravel)

· Janine & James Austin’s showjumper Sparrs Fleetwood (Baloubet Junior Z x Warkant Van’t Gestelhof x Fortuin Z)

· Pat Ruck’s showjumper C-Neptune Z (Crown Z x Indorado x Kafu XX)

· Georgia Wells showjumper Hector (Cicero x Kannan x Heartbreaker)

· Chris Wherton’s showjumper Cevins Tudor Gold (Billy Tudor x Fantaland x Toulon)

Overall, the show was a great success and has left us all feeling very excited for the future of the sport and breeding. We would like to thank our team for all their help: Pat Ruck for her brilliant facilities at The Sport Horse Centre in Coventry; Derek Morton for Chief Stewarding; Kyle Hopkins-Parry for his (amateur) photography and the rest of the Minderman family. Our plans are to host another Stallion Grading this Autumn and we look forward to seeing the high-class stallions to come.
