There seems to be a little confusion over what is deemed "British Bred" so please see the following explanation.

The World Breeding Federation of Sports Horses, the governing body of the World Championships of Young Horses state that the passport of origin (The studbook of registration) decides in which country horses must qualify to compete at Lanaken. Only KWPN horses can qualifiy in Holland and only German horses can qualify in Germany, both these countries are closed for others, same in all European countries, apart from GB with Wildcards!
But to encourage people to breed and register British we sponsor classes for British Breds and Registered horses, why would we support KWPN or BWP or Selle Francais horses? They all have their doors firmly shut for us. So unless you get a Wildcard you can only qualify in the Country of your chosen Studbook of registration.
